Clay FC records first win of the 2017 Challenge Cup Tournament
Goals from Osagie Otoikhine and Shola Aroniyo in the first half of play ensured Clay FC’s perfect start to the Tournament.
The first goal was within the first 3 minutes of play, with a well taken shot by Osagie which took a deflection, hit the upper left post and eventually nestled in the back end of the post.
The second goal was a converted penalty, which was awarded as a result of an unexpected deflection on Femi Awolusi’s trailing arm in the 18 yard box. The penalty was calmly dispatched by Shola to seal the win.
Tiki Taka FC appeared to be missing several key players and this was evident throughout the game as Clay FC had several opportunities to widen the goal difference. However, no goals were scored during the second half.
Overall, the game was a high energy game, though it eventually took its toll on players it reached the final minute.
