Tiki-Taka FC face must-win game against local rivals
After Tiki Taka FC’s opening day loss to Clay FC, anything less than a win this Saturday will all but guarantee elimination from the SLN Challenge Cup. This weekend (20th May), Tiki Taka FC will be facing off against their local rivals, Avengers FC.
Both clubs (Tiki Taka & Avengers) are comprised of members of DC Eagles FC. The club has experienced an increase in membership and the willingness of members to participate in the Tournament encouraged the Club’s Management to field two separate teams. So, while they are a closely-knit group with shared values and friendships, these will be set aside on Saturday as both teams battle it out to stand a chance of qualifying for the finals.
Currently, Tiki Taka are bottom of the table with zero (0) points, while Avengers have one (1) point from a hard-fought draw with Cullen FC.
Clay FC currently top the table with 3 points and will be facing off with Cullen FC on Saturday at 10:15am. Some players and coaching crew of Clay FC were spotted in the audience during Sunday’s game between Avengers and Cullen FC, as they sized up the opposition.
After Sunday’s disappointing draw, Cullen FC will be coming out guns blazing to make sure they grab all 3 points before their final fixture with Tiki Taka.
Currently, every team still has a mathematical possibility of qualifying for the finals, and Tiki Taka FC will be looking to mount a big comeback, as they realize there is surely no other option but to win.
