However, they rallied themselves and beat the Houston Black Stars to clinch a spot in the semi’s.
Group 1 winners, MFC, also gave a good representation of themselves by winning 5 of 6 games, secured 15 points and scored an impressive 22 goals. However, the road to the semi-finals for 2nd placed Clay FC wasn’t so straightforward. Clay FC was on the verge of being eliminated, but with determination and grit to secure a convincing 6-1 win over LWC FC, combined with a whole lot of luck from the 8-0 scoreline between MFC and E-Money in the final group game, they clinched the final slot.
There is no doubt any of the teams will be taking the semi-finals lightly. At this stage, it doesn’t really matter how easy or difficult the road to the semi-finals was for each team. Bottom line is the winner progresses to the finals and has a shot at winning the Championship.
